World Trade Recovers, Unevenly, as Shipping Costs Normalize
Container rates fall back to pre-pandemic levels even as Red Sea disruptions linger.
Global trade volumes have returned to their pre-pandemic trend line, according to figures released this week by the World Trade Organization. The recovery, however, has been uneven, with intra-Asian flows leading the rebound and transatlantic shipments lagging.
