Editorial standards

What we promise readers, and how to hold us to it.

Verification

Every dispatch is grounded in named people, named companies and dated events. Where a figure is reported, we state the period it covers and the source that produced it.

Each draft passes an independent second review before publication. That review checks names, dates, figures and claims, corrects what can be corrected, and rejects anything that cannot be supported.

Use of AI

The Lechwenyo Publishing House newsroom is AI-assisted. Drafting, research synthesis and the verification pass are machine-assisted; editorial policy, section priorities and the standards on this page are set by people.

We disclose this openly rather than in a footnote. Any article you read here is produced under this method unless it carries a byline marked as independently reported.

Corrections

We correct in public. When a material error is found, the article is amended and the change is noted at the foot of the piece with the date.

To report an error, write to corrections@lechwenyo.com with the headline and the specific line in question. We aim to respond within two business days.

Independence

We do not accept payment, equity, gifts or travel from the companies, funds or individuals we cover. Coverage is never sold, and no advertiser reviews copy before publication.

Reading is free. The publishing house is funded by its bookstore and by subscriptions, not by the subjects of its reporting.

Sources

Figures on market and wealth pages are derived from public filings and public market data, refreshed on a stated schedule. Estimates are labelled as estimates.

Where an article draws on secondary reporting, that reporting is credited by name inside the piece.

Ownership

The Lechwenyo Index Report is published by Lechwenyo Publishing House, founded and owned by Neo Rapelang Kevin Lechwenyo, South Africa. Books appear under the Lechwenyo Press imprint.

There is no outside shareholder and no political affiliation.
